Admissions for International Students

Application deadline: before April 30th of the enrollment year Eligibility:

Language requirements

  • Native English speaker and applicants whose high school study was taken in English are exempted from English requirement.

  • Please visit for more information on IELTS and visit on TOEFL. The TOEFL Institution Code of Donghua University is 4422.IELTS overall band of 5.5 or TOEFL Internet-based Test (IBT) of 72 (or above) mark sheet obtained in the last 2 years.

Application documents                 

  • High School Graduation certificate and transcripts of all grades.

  • Students who apply before the completion of high school must submit an official letter issued by the institute indicating the date of receiving the certificate and the transcripts so far. You need to submit the copy of certificate and full transcripts after completion of high school.

  • Those documents must be in English or Chinese with official stamp of the high school. If they are not in Chinese or English, notarized translated copies must be submitted with copies in original language.

  • Personal Statement in English essay format (more than 400 words), which may describe yourself, your interests, future career plan and the reason to choose SCF.

  • A personal creative design portfolio in the video format has to be provided. No limit is required on art design form but works relating to proposed major are preferred. The video should be around 3 minutes and be explained in oral English with the design concepts that reflect your understanding of professional knowledge, skills and creativity. Online interview will be arranged for applicants at the status of ‘Under Review’.

  • Passport (and visa) page
    -A clear copy of your valid passport with your name, photo, date of birth, place of birth, date of issue and date of expiry. The passport should have at least 6-month validity.
    -All visa pages are required if you have been to or if you are currently in China.

  • Curriculum Vitae
    - Written in the teaching language of the program you apply for, including your personal information, contact details, educational background (from middle school period), work or internship experience (if any), participation in extracurricular activities, awards and honors, hobbies and interests, grants and scholarships, licenses and certificates, etc.
    - Gap between each experience should not exceed three months.

  • Certificate of no criminal conviction
    - An applicant shall submit a valid Certificate of Non-Criminal Record (or Police Clearance Certificate) issued by the local public security authority (such as the police station), usually issued within six months prior to the submission date of the application.

  • Statement of financial support
    - Download from, fill the blanks and sign by the applicant and the sponsor. Even for the application of study with the entrance scholarships,  the applicant must find the sponsor to fill and sign to ensure that the applicant can bear any other expenses beyond the scope of scholarship funding.
