As the founder of the cooperative education program between Donghua University and the University of Edinburgh, Juliet Macdonald has introduced internationally advanced teaching concepts and resources to Shanghai. She has deepened the understanding and mutual trust between China and the UK in terms of educational policies and philosophies, enhanced the effectiveness of bilateral communication and dialogue through exchange and learning programs, and provided reference experience for the diversified development of higher education in both countries. In 2020, she was awarded the Hongqiao Friendship Award by Changning District, and was also the only foreign expert from a university to receive this honor.
