Juan Cruz is Dean of Edinburgh College of Art, bringing extensive leadership experience from previous roles as Head of School of Art & Humanities at the Royal College of Art and Director of Liverpool School of Art and Design. An accomplished artist, his practice spans video, installation and performance, exhibited internationally at venues including London's Matt's Gallery and Madrid's Elba Benitez Gallery. His leadership emphasizes academic-cultural partnerships, notably developing innovative collaboration models between universities and arts organizations. He continues to contribute to international art discourse through roles with the John Moores Painting Prize and International Award for Art Criticism, alongside research exploring UK-China creative industry connections.
