The vessel of youth has already entered the harbour of wonders we call university. In Shanghai, at Donghua, within SCF College, for every posture a sail may take, there lies a vast voyage ahead; for every heart that dares to explore, there unfolds a new horizon to chart.

On September 28th, the Dream Launch Ceremony for the 2025 freshmen of the Shanghai International College of Fashion and Innovation was held at the Songjiang Yunjian Hall Culture and Art Center. Chen Ge, Vice President of Donghua University, Zhang Jian, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Songjiang State-owned Investment Group, leaders from university departments, faculty representatives, alumni representatives, and all 2025 freshmen of the college attended the event. The event was hosted by Wen Run, Vice Dean of the college.

On behalf of all faculty and students, Chen Ge extended a warm welcome to the Class of 2025.

He encouraged the freshmen to keep the country’s priorities in mind and be designers oriented to national needs, embrace the intelligent transformation and become AI-empowered innovators, uphold humanistic values and act as cultural envoys connecting the world.He also expressed sincere gratitude to the Yunjian Hall Culture and Art Center for its strong support in helping students grow and thrive, promoting industry-education integration, and advancing the prosperity of the industry, culture and art.

At the ceremony, the university and enterprise jointly unveiled the Industry-Education Integration Joint Training Base of Donghua University & Yunjian No.1 Exhibition Hall.As an important cultural landmark in Songjiang, the Yunjian Hall Culture and Art Center is not only a platform for artistic exchanges, but also a stage for young students to showcase their creativity and realize their dreams.This practical base will serve as a crucial bridge connecting classrooms with society and integrating knowledge with industry, supporting students to present more design works and creative achievements.

The current student representative Xie Yanzi shared her learning experience and practical exploration at SCF. The freshman representative Shao Tianyi shared his story as a third-generation Donghua student in his family, carrying on the profound family memory and warmth of Donghua across three generations, as well as his determination to embrace interdisciplinary innovation in the new era.

We were also honored to invite Professor Sun Xinxi, a senior media professional, former Creative Director of Home at SHANG XIA, and founder of Xitang. With acute insight and profound professional expertise, he has achieved remarkable accomplishments in fashion media and academia.

Dean Li Jun presented Professor Sun with the appointment letter as an adjunct professor.Later, Professor Sun Xinxi delivered a special lecture entitled From Media to Oriental Aesthetics to the freshmen. By sharing his experience of accumulating strength across different fields and his understanding of Oriental aesthetics, he encouraged students to innovate upon Chinese traditions and find their own future development paths through the realm of harmony and balance.

As a new cultural landmark integrating humanities and art in Songjiang, Yunjian Hall staged four exhibitions simultaneously:Grand Canal Culture · Jiangnan Grain Transportation Exhibition,Cangcheng Intangible Cultural Heritage Special Exhibition and New Aesthetic Space,2025 Shanghai Calligraphers Association 7th Cursive Script Committee Works & Grand Canal Culture Calligraphy Exhibition,and Chishang Yunting Art Space Exhibition.

All teachers and students visited the exhibition halls, wandered through the long river of history, appreciated the rhythm of architecture, and experienced the elegance of Chinese ink art.
