He has led and participated in multiple domestic and international research projects, publishing over 80 papers in academic journals and conferences worldwide. He has also organized numerous design exhibitions, such as the SUSFUTURE International Sustainable Design Exhibition, IFFTI International Fashion Schools Alliance Design Exhibition, and other design competitions and academic conferences. Dr. Yuan has frequently guided undergraduate and graduate students in participating in design competitions both domestically and internationally. He has collaborated with academic teams from the University of Leeds (UK), Chulalongkorn University (Thailand), University of Novi Sad (Serbia), Tamkang University (Taiwan), Xingwu University of Science and Technology (Taiwan), and the Hungarian Fashion Association, engaging in joint research covering fields like product design, consumer behavior, and talent development. His design works have been exhibited in nearly 60 exhibitions around the world, including at the Jim Thompson Art Center in Bangkok, the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre, Bonnington Gallery in the UK, Gatas de Gorges in Spain, The Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manila, the San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles in California, the Art Museum of the Academy of Fine Arts at Tsinghua University, the Textile and Apparel Museum at Donghua University, and the Pier-2 Art Center in Kaohsiung. Additionally, he has held solo design exhibitions in Bangkok, Hong Kong, and Tainan.
