On January 30, UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer visited Yuyuan Garden in Shanghai and met with students from the Shanghai International College of Fashion and Innovation (SCF), a joint institute of Donghua University and the University of Edinburgh.

During the visit, SCF students presented lantern designs that blend traditional Chinese craftsmanship with iconic British cultural symbols, including London's red double-decker buses, Scotland's Glenfinnan Viaduct, and Larry the Cat of Downing Street, combined with Scottish tartan-inspired motifs.

Prime Minister Starmer was delighted to see the students' creativity and cultural insight, noting the designs as a vivid example of cross-cultural dialogue through art and design.
