On December 10, Juan Cruz, Dean of the Edinburgh College of Art, visited our university. Chen Ge, Vice President of Donghua University, attended the meeting, accompanied by leaders from the Office of International Cooperation, Shanghai International College of Fashion and Innovation, and the College of Fashion and Art Design.

On behalf of the university, Vice President Chen Ge extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Edinburgh College of Art. He noted that Donghua University and Edinburgh College of Art built a strong foundation for cooperation in the fields of fashion, design, and creative industries, establishing a sustained and influential exchange mechanism.Donghua University enters an important stage of disciplinary development and internationalization of design programs, he expressed the hope that the two institutions would take this visit as an opportunity to further expand cooperation in talent cultivation, scientific research and joint platform development, thereby deepening their strategic partnership.

Dean Juan Cruz stated that Edinburgh College of Art highly values its long-term cooperation with Donghua University and commended the fruitful outcomes achievements the two institutions have made in design innovation, art education and cross-cultural exchange. He emphasised out that this visit is not only an important step to deepen existing cooperation, but also a key opportunity to advance the planning of high-level collaborative projects.

The two sides held in-depth discussions on expanding undergraduate education models and scale, upgrading postgraduate and doctoral education, and further coordinating resource allocation. Both sides agreed to maintain close communication to ensure the smooth implementation of various cooperation initiatives.

Looking ahead, the two universities will continue to broaden the scope and deepen the level of their cooperation, jointly cultivating outstanding design and artistic talents in design and the arts who possess both global vision and strong innovative capabilities.
